01Heat-treatment metallurgist

The CCT diagram, drawn live

A transformation diagram for your actual chemistry, from a five-rate sweep, before you commit to a dilatometry campaign.

What the clip shows

A continuous-cooling-transformation diagram assembling itself: cooling curves sweep across a log-time axis, ferrite, pearlite and bainite noses stitch in behind them, and the composition-corrected martensite start line snaps across.

02Resistance-welding engineer

Weld schedule, auto-calibrated

Give it two grades and two thicknesses; it sizes the target nugget from the thinnest plate by the usual √t rule, then searches for the welding current itself.

What the clip shows

A bounded bisection search on welding current: the bracket halves while a coupled electromagnetic, thermal and microstructure solve grows the weld nugget on an axisymmetric section, until the computed nugget diameter settles at its target. RSW has no external validation; this clip shows the search, not an agreement with measurement.

03Press-hardening line engineer

Hot stamping, end to end

Run the whole press-hardening cycle and watch martensite grow as the quench carries the steel below Ms.

What the clip shows

The full press-hardening cycle: austenitize, soak, transfer, then die quench. The phase band holds austenite down to the martensite start line, and below it the martensite fraction grows with the undercooling rather than appearing at the crossing.
